Kaufman sees idealism, business in PET recycling
A 2021 trade-press profile of GHD's chief executive captured the founding conviction of the company: idealism and business belong in the same sentence.

When the trade press profiled GHD chief executive Barbara Kaufman in May 2021, the headline said what the company had been built on for a decade: food-grade PET recycling is an environmental mission and a disciplined supply business at the same time, and it only works when both are taken seriously.
The photograph that ran with the story was taken in front of baled post-consumer bottles, the raw material GHD moves at a scale of more than 80 million pounds a year.
