In August 2020 the United States joined the global network of Plastics Pacts with a national chapter that put brands, retailers, governments and NGOs behind one set of voluntary circular-packaging targets.

GHD shared the launch because voluntary frameworks do real preparatory work: they align definitions, surface the data gaps and build the coalitions that later harden into law. Much of the recycled-content policy that followed walked through doors the Pact opened.
